There’s a moment that happens so fast you almost miss it.
You’ve just eaten.
Nothing dramatic.
No chaos.
No “I’ve completely lost control” storyline.
Just… food.
And then, quietly:
“Okay… that could’ve been better.”
“I’ll be more on it later.”
“I’ll clean it up tomorrow.”
It’s subtle, not loud or aggressive.
More like a background app, always running quietly, draining your battery.
It feels responsible.
Like you’ve got your life together.
Like you’re aware.
Like you’re handling it.
But it’s a bit like trying to enjoy a meal while someone stands behind you with a clipboard.
“Interesting choice.”
“Could improve.”
“We’ll review this later.”
You’re eating.
And also being reviewed.
And somehow that became normal.
It just changed outfits.
Now it looks like:
Always just hovering.Making sure you’re doing “yourself” correctly.
It’s not the food.
It’s this:
👉 you’re never off-duty
There’s always a next adjustment. A next improvement. A quiet “just tweak this.”
You’re not just living your life. You’re supervising it.
Your mind calls this “being on top of things.”
Your body experiences it as:
being watched
being corrected
never quite being allowed to just be
And a body that feels watched?
Doesn’t relax.
So the instinct becomes:
“I just need to do it better.”
More awareness.
More discipline.
A cleaner reset tomorrow.
Which is a bit like pulling at one corner of crumpled bedsheets…You just move the tension somewhere else.
Just for a moment.
No fixing.
No balancing.
No quiet negotiations.
You eat, and that’s where it ends. Not because you’ve given up. But because, for a second, you step out of the role of managing yourself.
That can feel strange. Like missing a step on the stairs.
Not because it’s wrong. But because you’re not used to being unmanaged.
This is why I created the 6-minute Soft Exhale.
Not to fix your eating.
Not to improve your habits.
Not to turn you into a “better version” of yourself.
But to give you a moment where no one’s taking notes. Not even you.
Nothing dramatic.
Just… relief.
You don’t need to…..
get it right
feel calm instantly
use it “properly”
This isn’t that kind of space.
It’s just 6 minutes where your system remembers:
👉 I don’t have to manage or fix myself right now.
If you recognise that constant adjusting. That quiet “I’ll fix it next time” loop…That feeling of never quite being done…Then maybe the move isn’t more control.
Maybe it’s this: A small pause where nothing needs improving.
🎧 You can listen to the 6-minute Soft Exhale here:
You’re not one perfect day away from finally feeling at ease with food.
You’re one moment away from not managing yourself in it.
And that moment doesn’t come from doing it better. It comes from putting the clipboard down.
Ah, now you can exhale!
This way of relating to the body is the foundation of DIVALIGN and my 1:1 coaching. No pressure. Just an invitation, if and when you’re ready.
I would love to see you on Facebook, Instagram & Subscribe on YouTube.
